According to data published by GIW, ASF outbreaks were confirmed in seven voivodeships over the past week. The disease occurred primarily in Pomerania, as well as in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. Isolated outbreaks were also recorded in other parts of the country.

In the past week, outbreaks of the disease in wild boar were confirmed in the following areas: 

Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship:

  • Świecie County (the municipalities of Jeżewo and Warlubie)
  • Toruń County (Łysomice Municipality)

Lublin Voivodeship:

  • Biłgoraj County (Biłgoraj Commune)
  • Tomaszów County (Rachanie Commune)

Masovian Voivodeship:

  • Radom County (Iłża Municipality)

Subcarpathian Voivodeship:

  • Przemyśl County (Bircza Municipality)
  • Rzeszów County (Błażowa Municipality)

Pomeranian Voivodeship:

  • Słupsk County (Główczyce Municipality)

Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship:

  • Ełk County (Prostki Municipality)
  • Ostróda County (Morąg Municipality)

West Pomeranian Voivodeship:

  • Kamień County (Kamień Pomorski Municipality)

In 28 wild boar ASF foci, evidence of contact with the virus was confirmed in 41 animals. 

ASF in the year 2026

Since the beginning of January, 1816 ASF outbreaks in the wild boar population have been confirmed across the country. This is over 1000 fewer outbreaks than in the same period last year. The geographical range of the disease has also changed slightly compared with twelve months ago. Most noticeable are the lower number of confirmed outbreaks in Pomeranian Voivodeship, the absence of cases in Opole Voivodeship, and the low pressure from ASF in Lubusz and Greater Poland Voivodeships. At the same time, the number of ASF outbreaks has increased in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, and the disease has also appeared in Piotrków County in Łódź Voivodeship, and in Przemyśl and Rzeszów counties in Subcarpathian Voivodeship.

This year, 10 ASF outbreaks have also been confirmed in herds of pigs. The disease has occurred in Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lublin, Podlaskie, Pomeranian, and West Pomeranian Voivodeships.
