Domestic corn prices continue to fall amid the sharp depreciation of the dollar against the real and a pullback by buyers. According to Cepea, lower international prices (which reduce export parity), record production in 2025/26 in Brazil, and exports running below the pace seen in the previous season are also contributing to the declines.
Cepea researchers indicate that, with weaker foreign sales and steady progress in sowing the summer crop (soybeans and corn), buyers are expecting even more significant declines in the short term.
The Research Center notes that some of these market participants have already sought to make purchases for delivery in the coming months, in order to maintain comfortable inventories. On the selling side, despite prioritizing field activities, producers have shown greater flexibility in negotiations, whether in prices, payment terms, or delivery terms.
