Recent news concerning Starlink en Ukraine and a possible increase in intervention by the United States worry markets and support prices.
The market is now monitoring risks to the 2027 harvest. The report Crop Progress, published late due to Columbus Day, shows that planting of winter wheat U.S. were at 51% as of October 11, compared with 36% a week earlier, but remain 7 points below the five-year average. Egypt: toward stricter criteria for imported wheat ahead of a return to the market
TheEgypt plans to impose a minimum baking strength of W160 for its public purchases of wheat following several quality problems with Bulgarian cargoes, including a batch of 32 000 tonnes rejected by Mostakbal Misr.
This requirement would generally be compatible with French, Russian, Ukrainian and Romanian wheats, which usually meet this quality level. Some other origins could, however, be penalized.
This development could also reduce the number of offers eligible for Egyptian tenders, as the country is expected to return to the market shortly to replenish its stocks ahead of Ramadan 2027.
