Live hog and carcass prices continue to rise at the beginning of the month. According to Cepea, this scenario is linked to stronger demand for pork and a limited supply of live animals.

In addition, Cepea researchers point out that prices for cuts, which had been out of line with carcass prices, have also started to rise.

According to the Research Center, in addition to this, producers have kept animal weights adjusted to avoid oversupply in the domestic market.
