ASF in 2026

Since the beginning of the year, 1757 ASF outbreaks in wild boars have been confirmed in Poland. The disease has appeared in a total of 12 provinces. The provinces of Lower Silesian, Lesser Poland, Opole and Silesian remain free of the disease, as do almost all of Greater Poland and a substantial part of Lubusz and Łódź. The greatest disease pressure is recorded in the north of the country (the provinces of Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Pomeranian and West Pomeranian) and in the Podkarpacie region.

This year, 10 ASF outbreaks in pig herds have also been confirmed. They occurred in the provinces of Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lublin, Podlaskie, Pomeranian and West Pomeranian. As a result of outbreak eradication, more than 28 thousand pigs were culled.

Last year, more than 3,4 thousand ASF outbreaks among wild boars and 18 outbreaks in pig herds were confirmed nationwide.
