Brazilian pork exports (including all products, both fresh and processed) reached 1,192 million tonnes between January and September 2026, an increase of 6,2% compared with the 1,122 million tonnes exported in the same period last year, the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) reports.

Over the same comparison period, cumulative revenue reached US$ 2,737 billion, up 1,3% from the US$ 2,703 billion recorded the previous year.

In September alone, 135 thousand tonnes were shipped, a volume 11% lower than that recorded in the same month of 2025, when 151,6 thousand tonnes were shipped. Revenue reached US$ 289,3 million, 21,5% lower than the US$ 368,4 million recorded in September last year.

The Philippines was the main destination for Brazilian pork in September, with 25,691 thousand tonnes, a volume 47,7% lower than the 49,078 thousand tonnes recorded in the same month of 2025. They were followed by Japan, with 15,916 thousand tonnes (+38,9%, compared with 11,458 thousand tonnes); Chile, with 14,431 thousand tonnes (+72%, compared with 8,392 thousand tonnes); China, with 11,418 thousand tonnes (-16,4%, compared with 13,665 thousand tonnes); and Vietnam, with 7,392 thousand tonnes (-23,2%, compared with 9,627 thousand tonnes).

Other highlights for the month include shipments to Argentina, which grew 73,8%, reaching 7,312 thousand tonnes; the Dominican Republic, up 53,6% to 2,129 thousand tonnes; Peru, up 104,6% to 1,054 thousand tonnes; and South Africa, up 99,4%, totaling 822 tonnes. Malaysia, a market recently opened to Brazilian pork, imported 1,918 thousand tonnes in September.

“The monthly result comes against a high comparison base and in a context of pressure on average international prices. Even so, cumulative performance remains positive, with monthly averages above 130 thousand tonnes and volume growth of more than 6%. The progress recorded in markets such as Japan, Chile and Argentina, as well as the start of shipments to Malaysia, demonstrate the diversification and competitiveness of Brazilian pork,”, analyzes ABPA President Ricardo Santin.

In the breakdown of exports by state, Santa Catarina maintained its lead in September, with 64,479 thousand tonnes, a volume 11,4% lower than the 72,784 thousand tonnes recorded in the same month of 2025. It is followed by Rio Grande do Sul, with 33,779 thousand tonnes (-5,5%, compared with 35,763 thousand tonnes); Paraná, with 22,737 thousand tonnes (-10,1%, compared with 25,305 thousand tonnes); Mato Grosso, with 3,762 thousand tonnes (-3,7%, compared with 3,906 thousand tonnes); and Minas Gerais, with 3,477 thousand tonnes (+19,4%, compared with 2,912 thousand tonnes).
