The Fermier d’or competition juries met on 15, 16 and 17 September in Aubière, in the Puy-de-Dôme. Nearly 300 judges took turns evaluating the farm products entered in the competition’s 28 categories. Organized by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Chamber of Agriculture, the competition is open to farmers in the region who grow, raise and process their produce on their farms.
For this 2026 edition, 200 products were competing, 85 were honored, and 68 farm producers received at least one medal. The awards were presented at the Livestock Summit this Wednesday, 7 October.
For farm products made from cow's milk, 6 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 4 bronze medals were awarded. For goat's milk, the awards comprise 5 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. And for sheep's milk, there are 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 3 bronze medals.
