1, Pig prices continue to fall, reaching their lowest level in nearly 6-plus months

Based on pig price data from 27 provinces in China, the Dachumu editorial team calculated that the national average pig price on 2026 year 11 month 5 day was 4.40 yuan per jin, down 0.04 yuan from yesterday, a decrease of 1.05%, reaching the lowest price in nearly 203 days, or the lowest price in nearly 6-plus months;

It was only 0.05 yuan above this year’s low of 4.35 yuan in 4 month, an increase of 1.2%, and was still far below the same period in 2022-2024, the past 3 years, and closest to the same period in 2025.

Wens Foodstuff Group stated during an investor relations event that capacity reduction in this cycle has been more thorough. Some farming companies that had been taking chances and were under considerable financial pressure will face survival challenges and accelerate their exit. Capacity reduction is currently expected to be more complete, and hog prices next year may perform better than previously expected. In the past, various industry data agencies and futures market prices failed to accurately forecast the trend in hog prices during this cycle. The specific peak cannot be precisely estimated, but the view that capacity reduction has been more thorough may support a more optimistic outlook for next year.
