RUSSIAN POULTRY INCUBATOR PRODUCTION PLUNGES AS INVESTMENT IN THE EGG INDUSTRY HALTS — Illustration 1

Poultry incubator production in Russia fell by 98,4% in 2025 to just 455 units, down sharply from 28.413 units the previous year, as investment activity in the egg industry came to a halt, according to research by Alto Consulting Group (ACG).

Previously, production in this segment had shown an upward trend since 2022, when it stood at 20.544 units, reaching its peak in 2024.

ACG attributed the 98,4% decline in poultry incubator production in Russia in 2025 to the completion of various major livestock equipment procurement projects, a drop in the number of new orders, and a shift in demand toward more specialized types of poultry equipment.

The latter factor may offer a less bleak perspective: the industry may not have stopped investing entirely, but may instead be redirecting capital expenditure toward different equipment and technologies. However, analysts have not specified the extent to which this shift is actually taking place.

ACG analysts said that the industry's recovery would require a new wave of investment in the poultry farming sector, from upgrading existing facilities to building new capacity. They also highlighted increased demand for domestic agricultural equipment, broader automation of incubation processes, and greater government support for agricultural technology (agri-tech) producers as key to the industry's revival.
