The last time we saw major changes in the weaner pig market was at the end of August. Since then, each of our subsequent price checks has ended with a similar result. This week is no different. The prices listed by both domestic producers and importers are almost identical to those from nearly two months ago.

Domestic weaner pig prices 24.10.2026

According to data from our poll today, domestic producers expect prices for piglets weighing 20 kg to be at the level of 200 - 220 zł per head. The average price in our poll was 205 zł/head, meaning exactly the same as in the previous quotation. The price of piglets weighing 30 kg, however, fell symbolically. It currently stands at 240 PLN/head. compared with 243 zł/piece in the previous quotation. Animal prices range from 190 - 270 zł per piece.

Prices of imported piglets

We are also observing practically no changes in the prices of imported piglets. The average price based on distributors’ price lists is 183 zł/piece compared with 185 zł./piece in the previous quotation. Depending on the importer and the animals’ health status, prices range from 150 - 210 zł/piece

The pig market is stagnant

Stagnation is observed not only in the weaner pig market, but also in the market for live pigs. According to our survey yesterday, fattening pigs in Class E currently average 5,85 zł net per kilogram, while the liveweight price has fallen to 4,40 zł net per kilogram. These prices very often do not even cover production costs, especially in the case of open-cycle fattening. It is therefore not surprising that demand for weaners is limited, which means that for now there is probably little chance of any significant price increases. Perhaps a slight upturn will occur closer to the end of the year. If farmers are counting on an improvement in the live pig market in March–April (as was the rule in previous years), they may then decide to increase their placements.
