Slaughter sows: Indicative prices refer to live animals and are expressed in €/kg, excluding VAT and on an ex-farm basis.

NB: CUN-Slaughter sows: New quotation type from 15 October 2026.

The C.U.N. for slaughter pigs sets the indicative price for pigs in the protected circuit in the class "from 156 kg to 200 kg" live weight (average weight of the batch of pigs delivered). Given that compliance of pigs with the production specifications of the main PDOs in the Italian pig supply chain is assessed, with regard to animal weight, on the basis of the weight of individual carcasses (cold weight), live weights and the corresponding ranges were calculated by applying a theoretical slaughter yield of around 79/80%, taking into account the EU and national regulations currently in force concerning pig carcass classification*

The other product descriptions in the price list are determined according to the following calculation criteria:

Indicative price of pigs in the protected circuit in the weight class "from 138 Kg to 156 Kg": 8 euro cents (0,080€) are deducted from the indicative price of pigs in the protected circuit in the weight class "156 - 200 Kg";

Indicative price of pigs in the protected circuit in the weight class "from 200 Kg to 225 Kg": 5 euro cents (0,050€) are deducted from the indicative price of pigs in the protected circuit in the weight class "156 - 200 Kg"

Indicative price of pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "from 156 Kg to 200 Kg": the calculation is made by subtracting the indicative price of the fresh ham for trimmed dry-cured ham production, typical production (average weight 14,5 Kg), from that of the fresh ham for trimmed dry-cured ham production (from 12 Kg and over), as reported in the CUN Fresh Pork Cuts price list for the previous week. This value is multiplied by 28 (the average weight of the two hams) and divided by 160 (the average weight of the pig). The result is subtracted from the indicative price of the pig in the protected circuit in the weight class "156-200 Kg;

Indicative price of pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "from 200 Kg to 225 Kg": the calculation is made by subtracting the indicative price of the fresh ham for trimmed dry-cured ham production, typical production (average weight 14,5 Kg), from that of the fresh ham for trimmed dry-cured ham production (from 12 Kg and over), as reported in the CUN Fresh Pork Cuts price list for the previous week. This value is multiplied by 28 (the average weight of the two hams) and divided by 160 (the average weight of the pig). The result is subtracted from the indicative price of the pig in the protected circuit in the weight class "200-225 Kg;

Indicative price of pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "from 138 Kg to 156 Kg": the calculation is made by subtracting the indicative price of the fresh ham for trimmed dry-cured ham production, typical production (average weight 14,5 Kg), from that of the fresh ham for trimmed dry-cured ham production (from 12 Kg and over), as reported in the CUN Fresh Pork Cuts price list for the previous week. This value is multiplied by 28 (the average weight of the two hams) and divided by 160 (the average weight of the pig). The result is subtracted from the indicative price of the pig in the protected circuit in the weight class "138-156 Kg;

Indicative price for pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "from 130 Kg to 138 Kg": 3 euro cents (0,030 €) are deducted from the indicative price for pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "138-156 Kg";

Indicative price for pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "from 115 Kg to 130 Kg": 1,5 euro cents (0,015 €) are deducted from the indicative price for pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "130-138 Kg";

Indicative price for pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "from 90 Kg to 115 Kg": 1,5 euro cents (0,015 €) are deducted from the indicative price for pigs in the non-protected circuit in the weight class "115-130 Kg";
