- ARiMR is accepting applications for subsidies for sows or young gilts from 22 October to 16 November exclusively through its IT system.
- The 1000 zł support for a sow cannot be combined with the 2000 zł subsidy for purchasing a breeding gilt; you must choose one form of assistance.
- The de minimis aid limit may determine whether the support is paid, so some farmers may receive no support or may receive a reduced amount.
According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture, applications for aid can be submitted from 22 October to 16 November exclusively through the ARiMR IT system. It is worth emphasising that the available There is only one form of assistance, meaning that breeders applying for subsidies for sows will not be able to receive support for purchasing gilts, and vice versa.

1000 zł subsidy per sow
Financial support in the form of a 1000 zł subsidy per sow is intended for producers engaged in raising or breeding pigs, who have a number in the ARiMR producers’ register and meet the criteria for a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise. Sows kept at the herd premises must be identified with an ear tag bearing an individual identification number, and this identification must be reported no later than the date the application is submitted.
2000 thousand for the purchase of a breeding gilt
Agricultural producers who purchased breeding gilts aged up to 12 months may apply for support, provided that a zootechnical certificate was issued for them and they were born in herds covered by the performance evaluation of pigs.
A condition for granting assistance is that the agricultural producer undertakes to keep breeding gilts or sows at their herd premises for 8 months from the date the application is submitted, in a number no lower than the number of breeding gilts or sows kept at the herd premises on the date the application is submitted.
The amount of assistance in the form of a grant is 2000 zł and will be paid in two instalments:
- Installment one in the amount of 1000 PLN – immediately after submitting the application
- Installment two in the amount of 1000 PLN – 8 months after the date of submitting the application for aid
Some farmers may not receive support
An important condition is also the availability of a de minimis aid limit, since the support is to come from this budget. This may mean that some farmers will not receive support or will receive it in a limited amount, as funds from the de minimis aid pool have previously been used, among other things, to support investments related to farm biosecurity:
- If someone has used up their de minimis aid, they will not be able to benefit from it at this point, but this aid is renewed. I have had conversations with farmers who initially said, "I won't benefit from this aid because I have already used up the limit," but now, in conversations over the last few days, they say, "My limit has been renewed; we want an increase." And this is also what we are fighting for in the European Commission: a higher de minimis aid limit. Unfortunately, it cannot be financed from other funds, because that would be considered unlawful state aid," Minister Stefan Krajewski said at a press conference last week.
