The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch of the Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation (Branch Director Kim Hak-seong) took part in the “12th Gyeongnam Livestock Love One Heart Festival,” held at Hapcheon County Sports Park on the 14th, and promoted the cattle AI grading equipment (KBM4), which uses AI technology, along with the institute’s major programs.
At the event, the branch introduced “축산물원패스,” which allows livestock farmers to view grading results and rib-eye images, and presented “여기고기,” a livestock product price comparison service that helps consumers make economical purchases. It also publicized the institute’s major programs, including the livestock product grading system, traceability system, and low-carbon livestock product certification system.
The branch also held an AI grading demonstration using the KBM4 equipment. It showed how AI analyzes images of cattle rib-eye and determines grades, and introduced the equipment’s main components and the principles behind its image analysis technology. Visitors responded enthusiastically to the opportunity to see firsthand how AI technology is used in actual grading.
Director Kim Hak-seong said, "I hope that by directly introducing the AI technology-based livestock grading process, we helped visitors understand livestock product grading technology," adding, "We will continue to actively share digital technologies in the livestock sector and the institution’s major initiatives, expanding communication with the public."
